In recognition of the heavy snow-falls in some places this week (eg, Cottonopolis under cotton), here is a poem by Japanese poet, Saigyo Hoshi (1118-1190):

No one visits here
In the dark mountain hut
where I live alone.
But for this sweet loneliness
it would be too bleak to bear.
