{"id":5888,"date":"2013-09-28T15:15:35","date_gmt":"2013-09-28T15:15:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/meeseeks:5080\/blog\/?p=5888"},"modified":"2013-09-28T15:15:35","modified_gmt":"2013-09-28T15:15:35","slug":"political-invective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vukutu.com\/blog\/2013\/09\/political-invective\/","title":{"rendered":"Political invective"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve long been a fan of good political vitriol.\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/meeseeks:5080\/blog\/2009\/04\/australian-political-language\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Here<\/a> was a catalog, compiled by journalist Mungo MacCallum,\u00a0 of words used by Paul Keating in the Australian Commonwealth Parliament to describe his opponents.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With such a past, it is good to see that some folks are still hard at work keeping standards of vitriol high:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.telegraph.co.uk\/finance\/ambroseevans-pritchard\/100025568\/my-grovelling-apology-to-herr-schauble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Here<\/a> is <em>Telegraph<\/em> financial journalist Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, skewering (and rightly so) that smug and arrogant architect of our common European Economic Disaster, German finance minister Wolfgang Sch\u00e4uble:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I apologise personally to Mr Sch\u00e4uble for calling him a dangerous mediocrity: arrogant, shallow, narrow-minded, provincial, and unscientific in equal degree. This was shockingly rude. It brings shame to Fleet Street.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2013\/sep\/09\/jake-davis-topiary-lulzsec-answers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>, on David Cameron, is Jake Davis, aka Topiary, who has not lost his way with words since being the tweet-face of Anonymous and LulzSec:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>David Cameron is an absolute wet-lipped Eton-spawned fleshnugget with no actual perspective on global policy. I hate the Tories with a burning passion reserved for the Westboro Baptist Church.
